To the right an inscription in regular script by Wang Hui reads:

The narcissi by (the Southern Sung master) Chao Tzu-ku (Meng-chien) are pure, untrammelled and sublime in spirit consonance.  In this copy by Nan-tien there is beauty to spare.
Signature: Shih-ku Hui.  2 seals: Wang Hui chih-yin.  Shih-ku.
