Lofty Scholar by Tang Yin, Ming dynasty. A gentleman sits in
leisure under the green shade of a grove of trees by flowing water.
Tang Yin's poem written on the fan reads:
With proud bearing he sits under the hermit's gate
of branches, hair disheveled,
Coolness seeping into his hemp kerchief: a sweet-pea wind.
Where morning crows, countless, circle about in the sky,
Above the green tips of trees: a single crack of red.
(Signed) Sketched by Tang Yin of Su-tai.
2 seals follow: Nan-ching chieh-yuan and Tang Tzu-wei tu-shu
